Meet Brooklyn (aka- Brookie, Cookie, Brookie-Cookie, Crooklyn and HoodRat, lol) is very special!!! She came to us and behaved like a feral cat. She refused to let us hold her or even pet her. She would watch the other dogs come to love us and would tilt her head and run away when we tried to engage her. The only way we could ever touch her is if we rolled up on her while she was asleep. She was very uncomforatble with human contact but LOVES LOVES LOVES all of the other dogs. She is so playful with them and loves to kiss them and snuggle with them (Rocco is her favorite, of course). She is FINALLY coming to me and letting me pet her.... although, still not entirely comfortable with humans (not sure that I could blame her, lol!). She needs a home that has at least one other dog that will accept her and play. She needs very patient humans that will let her take her time to develop trust. She is not for the family that wants a small doggie to cuddle in bed with and have as a lap dog. It is, of course, possible for her to become that dog one day, but she acts more like a skittish cat than any dog I have ever met. She shows love in other ways. Her tail goes crazy when I walk in the house and she will jump all over my legs... when I bend down to pet her, she bolts- but she is starting to come back for bits of love and attention. She loves cheeseburgers, whipped cream, stealing warm laundry, gutting dogs toys and turning rolls of toilet paper into confetti. Actually, she loves everything she can get her paws on. I want her to find a home that is understanding of her quirks and patient with whatever happened to her to make her so fearful of people. She has made tons of progress and I believe she is ready for the perfect family. Not sure of her breed. She is no way a black mouth cur (ACC's guess)- I say Chi/Terrier mix ;-))
